Music lies at the heart of Antoine Carlier's filmmaking. An avid fan of jazz, pop, rock and many other musical genres, he's worked with many diverse artists, first making a name for himself in the world of video with work for Vanessa Paradis, Etienne Daho, Salif Keita, Day-One, Rokia Traoré and I Love Ufo. Several more personal projects followed, from the staging of Guillaume de Chassy and Daniel Yvinec's Wonderful World to longer films, including Jazz in Paris Remixed (now available on DVD from Universal Jazz) which was awarded the Jury Prize at the Los Angeles Short Film Festival. His "surrealist" and dreamlike imagery has also led him into the world of fashion, notably in collaboration with Chanel, and modern art, especially with Virtual Design he founded. He's currently working on the screenplay of his first film which will be shot during 2009 and 2010. Expect music to play an important part.
