A highly regarded jazz bassist, Vincent Artaud studied classical orchestration with Laurent Couson and – through his collaboration with Arnaud Rebotini, emblematic figurehead of French electronic music – synthesizers, programming and mixing. The latest in a long line of great composer / arrangers, he creates a hybrid music, brilliantly combining diverse sources of inspiration, from symphonic music to minimalism via the expressivity of jazz and the sound colours of rock. Composer of two major works, as well as music for cinema, ballet and theatre, his talents have been called upon by numerous musicians – Julien Lourau, Pierrick Pedron, Pierre de Bethmann, Thomas Savy, Alain Bashung, Patrick Artero, Rodolphe Burger, Henri Salvador, Angélique Kidjo.
