Characterised by its unique generosity and integrity, the music of Bernardo Sandoval is well known way beyond the confines of the flamenco universe. Open to all kinds of melodic and rhythmic experimentation, Bernardo weaves on the time-honoured loom of flamenco but adds distinctive threads of Latin, jazz, African and Pan-Mediterranean music to create a genre all his own – and an instantly recognisable musical personality. In addition to numerous albums, he's also written soundtracks (for, amongst others, Manuel Pradal's Marie Baie des Anges, Emmanuel Poirier's Chemins de traverses and Western and Mehdi Charef's Marie-Line AND La Fille de Keltoum) and worked with the Orchestre de Chambre de Toulouse, the Beninese group Jaya, the 100 % Collègues collective, Equidad Barès, Lorena Vera, Eric Lareine, Gabriel Sandoval, Alain Coret, Camaron de la Isla and Chavela Vargas. With his latest project, entitled Solo, Bernardo Sandoval returns to the essence of his art, a world of his own, digging deep into the roots of a genre the better to imagine its future.
