"Openness" is the word to describe this 30-year-old classically-trained jazz guitarist, who can move effortlessly from the electric to the acoustic and the banjo. Pierre Perchaud has a knack of "escaping" the instrument, the better to reveal its very essence, and his ability to bring together a wide range of musical influences and adapt them to his own sensibility is truly surprising. It also explains why his luxuriant, inspired playing is so sought after by many different groups.
