SYLVAIN
DANIEL

electric bass

Self-taught, 31 years old, Sylvain Daniel has his own idea of the bass. Trained as a horn player (he plays that instrument in the orchestra too!), he's sensitive to orchestral colour and keen to respect the collective musical intention, weaving his skilful counterpoint to emphasise the subtleties of the score. Sylvain thinks more like a musician than a "bass hero", using all sorts of analogue and digital effects to transform the sound of his instrument in truly amazing ways. This highly original musician plays in numerous groups associated with Chief Inspector, the dynamic young French label that mixes jazz, improvised and new music, and he's also active in the world of pop and electronic music.
