This project combines the images of a period film, namely that of the American director and Hollywood pioneer Cecil B. DeMille, through a contemporary and daring initiative undertaken by the Orchestre National de Jazz. With this effort, Daniel Yvinec showcases the composer’s talents in each orchestra member, inciting them to imagine the various sequences of such a film. The production of this score, which alternates moments of musical intensity with more minimalist passages, proposes an innovative format for treating imagery as a special kind of narrative. This dimensional juxtaposition offers the spectator an array of focal points to forge an individual path music to image, ultimately bridging the two over the course of an enchanting journey.
