Alternating studio and live ensemble work, Xavier Garcia has established himself as a composer, collaborating with ensembles including the Groupe de Recherches Musicales de l’INA, Groupe de Musiques Vivantes de Lyon, ARFI and La Marmite Infernale, as well as working for theatre, dance, cinema, circus and animation. He divides his interests between developing his own personal language and collective experimentation, between recording and the in-the-moment experience of live performance, between writing and improvisation.
