Yves Torchinsky
Bass
Yves started on electric bass in blues and R&B bands, before taking up the double bass and turning his attention to jazz. A member of the Orchestre de Contrebasses since it was formed in 1981, he's also, with Éric Dervieu, a member of the René Urtreger Trio, and is much sought after, both as a performer (his impeccable playing can be heard in the Denis Badault Trio, the Xavier Cobo Quartet, and with Renaud Garcia-Fons, Simon Spang Hanssen, Claus Stötter...) and a respected teacher (at the CNR in Lille and Paris University).
