He graduated with a Master\u2019s in Musicology from the University of Paris VIII and then attended the IRCAM, following its curriculum in composition and musical computer-studies. He had a residency at the Villa Medicis in Rome when he was in his early Thirties, and since then he has been active as a composer and improviser, notably with his own group Caravaggio (with Samuel Sighicelli, Bruno Chevillon and Eric Echampard). Benjamin has also written instrumental pieces for various ensembles and orchestras (Ictus, Ars Nova, TM+, the Radio France Philharmonic, the Percussions de Strasbourg, the National Orchestra in Lyon\u2026), not to mention music for films and theatre (\u201cL\u2019Amour est un crime parfait\u201d, Jean-Marie &amp; Arnaud Larrieu).
