Her performances have included all the major roles belonging to the great American classics, and she has appeared not only in Italy but also in the USA and the United Kingdom (as Sally Bowles in \u201cCabaret\u201d, Cassie in \u201cA Chorus Line\u201d, Anita in \u201cWest Side Story\u201d, Roxie Hart in \u201cChicago\u201d, etc.) In 2004 she took part in the \u201cNuit am\u00e9ricaine\u201d spectacular, a tribute to 20<sup>th<\/sup> century American music produced by Lambert Wilson (who also appeared in the show), with R\u00e9gis Huby as Artistic Director. Her meeting with the latter was the beginning of a long collaboration that gave rise to two albums: \u201cFurrow &#8211; A Cole Porter Tribute\u201d (2010, Abalone Productions) and \u201cAll Around\u201d, an original R\u00e9gis Huby creation with texts by Yann Apperry (2011, Abalone Productions). Her collaboration with the author has continued with several projects to date: \u201cTerra Vagans\u201d (music by Claude Barth\u00e9lemy), \u201cLa Foire aux Chansons\u201d (music by R\u00e9gis Huby) and \u201cCalvinologie\u201d (music by Massimo Nunzi), the last two having been recorded for Radio France. She has also been involved in the project \u201cPo\u00e8te, vos papiers\u201d, composed by Yves Rousseau and based on L\u00e9o Ferr\u00e9&#8217;s famous poetry anthology.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2028Maria Laura Baccarini continued her acting career in Italy with principal roles in \u201cConcerto per un Poeta\u201d, \u201cI Have a Dream\u201d, \u201cAscolta il Canto del Vento\u201d, \u201cLa Nuit des Rois\u201d (Verona Italy Shakespeare Festival) and \u201cMaria Stuarda\u201d. In 2011, again in association with R\u00e9gis Huby, she gave the first performance of \u201cGaber, Io e le Cose\u201d, a violin-voice duet based on works by Giorgio Gaber, one of the most intelligent, militant and poetic authors in the history of Italian song and theatre. The premi\u00e8re of this concert-spectacular was given at the Astiteatro33 Festival in Italy, and it produced the eponymous album \u201cGaber, Io e le Cose<em>\u201d<\/em> (2015, Abalone Productions). \u2028\u2028The new creation \u201cWaiting For The Night To Smile\u201d was the fruit of her love of Stephen Sondheim&#8217;s music, which she shares with singer Stephy Haik; it also gave her the opportunity to work for the first time with pianists Stephan Oliva and Bruno Angelini.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/marialaura-baccarini.com\/fr\/\"><b>www.marialaura-baccarini.com<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SINGER, ACTRESS, DANCER An singer,\u00a0actress and dancer of Italian origin, Maria Laura Baccarini began her career in musical theatre.
